No Chicken in China Town

Yesterday was very interesting and VERY annoying. All of you people that have grocery store nearby and are taking them for granted, shame on you. I spent the better part of the day trying my hardest to locate a store that sold chicken breast. Just chicken breast. That's all I wanted.

You'd think in a city of over 800,000 people would have regular grocery stores on every corner. They don't. Ever corner is filled with Walgreen's or convenience store. Everywhere that says they sell groceries usually really only sells a couple of fruits, canned veggies, mac'n'cheese, and alcohol. Lots and lots of alcohol. My predicament: I wanted to actually cook a meal in my miniature kitchen. I mean, I canceled my food through the school because it was so expensive.  So anyway, after asking around, I finally found out there is a grocery store of some sorts pretty close to here (no thanks to Google). I will be on my way to check that out soon (yay!).

China Town Entrance (sorry bad quality- it was taken on my cell)
As I was walking around trying to locate chicken, I landed upon China Town accidentally. I haven't actually been to the entrance or the markets through there. I really liked it and it made me want to learn Chinese so I could know what everything was that they sold. Some of it was kind of unnerving (scary food!). I got a nice walk out of my search for food at least.

I started my online class yesterday and it seems pretty cool so far. The History of Film 2: Post 1940 (no, I didn't take History of film 1... not sure why, I just didn't). Today was my first on-campus class. I have to say that I am REALLY excited about this one: Photoshop for Photographers... SO much information accompanied by a book that weights 10 tons. I like the teacher and the class seems to have really cool people in it. Well that's about it from me today. I hope everyone has fun plans for Labor Day. Me, I'll be roaming this city and trying to learn the streets. :)
